About Us
Gurkha Fine Foods came about as a result of my
husband’s desire to ensure that he had a supply of Gurkha food to last
him long into his retirement. Chris is currently enjoying his second
tour with the Gurkhas. As part of his job we are both often invited to
enjoy true Gurkha hospitality. We have savoured many excellent meals
with our Gurkha neighbours and I particularly love the fact that I can
enjoy a delicious mild curry or, if I am in the mood, something much
hotter by adding lots of Achar and ‘HillBoy’. Even my children are
great fans - my two year old daughter particularly loves Dhal, whilst my
son will devour Kukhra Sauce with chicken every day of the week, given
half
a chance. |

The Gurkha community are always keen to pass on their knowledge and
understanding of food and I have been very fortunate to learn with
them how to make many of their recipes. When developing our range of
products we have talked to Gurkha chefs, soldiers and their wives to
ensure that we find the best and most authentic recipes. The Gurkhas
have been involved in every tasting and sampling along the way.
I am delighted to now be able to launch the product range onto the
British market. I am sure that the range of flavours and the concept
of Gurkha food will soon catch on. Everyone who has tried our products
has found lots to enjoy - they have all agreed that these are
different to a traditional curry and have a delicious mild flavour.
For those who like something hotter, the ‘HillBoy’ and the Achars
provide a new and interesting way to spice up their meal.
